Heel Pain
Our Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatrists are experts in treating heel pain.
Plantar fasciopathy is the most common cause of heel pain due to degeneration of the tissue. Although this is different from Plantar Fasciitis which is more of an inflammatory problem, it is crucial in differentiating the diagnosis to allow the correct treatment for the best outcome. For example, you may feel intense pain in the heel first thing in the morning when you stand up or after you have been seated for a period and then stand up. Usually, you find it eases out when you start moving.
Pediatrics
In children, the most common type of heel pain is Sever’s. Symptoms are typically described at the back of the heel bone at the insertion of the Achilles tendon (tendon at the back of the heel). Therefore, sever’s is most commonly seen in very active children and adolescents.
